Privacy Policy

1. Overview
QuoteStak LLC takes your privacy seriously. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of QuoteStak's website and services and is designed to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act and applicable federal privacy law.
2. Data we collect
We collect the information you provide during the intake process including your name, email address, phone number, and property address. We collect project details including trade category, scope of work, and photos you upload. We collect payment information processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers. We also collect technical information including IP addresses, device type, and browser information for security and service improvement purposes. We collect records of contractor communications conducted on your behalf through our platform. We collect referral codes and referral relationship data when you participate in the QuoteStak referral program.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to generate cost estimates, contact contractors on your behalf, and deliver bid results. We use your email to send project updates, bid notifications, and the introduction email. If you opted in during signup we may send you project tips and updates from QuoteStak. You may unsubscribe at any time. Project information is processed by AI systems to generate cost estimates, assist with project scoping, and coordinate contractor bids. This processing is conducted by Anthropic pursuant to their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy. The information sent to Anthropic may include your project descriptions, uploaded photos, property address, name, budget, and the content of communications with contractors conducted on your behalf.
4. Contractor contact
QuoteStak contacts local contractors on behalf of paying customers. When a customer purchases a QuoteStak service their first name and project address are shared with contractors for the sole purpose of requesting project bids. Customer contact information including email and phone number is not shared with contractors until the customer selects a winning bid and authorizes an introduction. Contractor phone numbers and email addresses are sourced from publicly available business listings including Google Business profiles. Records of SMS communications sent to and received from contractors on your behalf are stored and made available to you through the Full Transparency feature in your dashboard. QuoteStak does not sell or share contractor contact information with any third party.
5. Photo storage
Photos you upload are stored securely in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Photos are shared with contractors who are actively bidding on your project. Photos are deleted upon account deletion. Photos are not shared with any third party beyond active contractors on your project.
6. Data retention
We retain your project data for as long as your account is active. Payment records are retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance purposes. Project and communication records are retained for 3 years after project completion unless earlier deletion is requested. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days. Some data may be retained for legal and financial compliance purposes including Stripe transaction records.
7. Third party services
QuoteStak uses the following third party services to operate the platform: Clerk for authentication and user management, Stripe for payment processing, Twilio for SMS delivery, SendGrid for email delivery, Cloudflare R2 for photo storage, Railway for database hosting, Google Places API for contractor discovery, Anthropic for AI-powered estimate generation and project scoping, Sentry for error monitoring, and Upstash for rate-limiting infrastructure. As configured, Sentry does not receive your user identity or session recordings, and our Upstash rate-limiting infrastructure does not store personal data. Each of these services processes data according to their own privacy policies. Links to each provider's privacy policy are available on their respective websites.
8. Your rights
Under applicable privacy law you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected about them, know whether their personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom, opt out of the sale of personal information (QuoteStak does not sell personal information), request deletion of personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may exercise these rights from your account settings or by contacting us at support@quotestak.com.
9. Data security
QuoteStak uses industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission, secure cloud storage, and access controls to protect your personal information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information QuoteStak will notify you as required by applicable law.
10. Cookies
QuoteStak uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication and session management through Clerk. You may disable cookies in your browser settings but this may affect your ability to log in and use the service.
11. Children's privacy
QuoteStak does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. QuoteStak is intended for use by property owners and adults only. If you believe a child has provided personal information to QuoteStak please contact us immediately at support@quotestak.com.
12. Do not track
QuoteStak does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals from web browsers.
